The castle has one of the twelve original castle main towers and is one of the five castles which are registered as a national treasure.
The panoramic view of the townscape and Shinji Lake seen from the top floor is fabulous. The castle ground is a public park which is chosen as one of the 100 best cherry blossom spots in Japan.
Admission to the castle tower: 680 yen for adults, 290 yen for children, 470 yen for overseas tourists (Passport must be shown)
