Mochigase Hina Doll Floating

The traditional event is held to wish for a healthy and peaceful life
TOTTORI

The event dates back to the Edo era (1603-1867). People place a pair of Hina dolls (male and female) and other ornaments, such as diamond-shaped rice cake and small twigs on a plate made of rice straw and float them down the Chiyo River to ward misfortune off.

When: April 18th (3rd of the third month in the lunar calendar)
