Okayama Castle

The silhouette of the black castle is beautifully reflected on the river water.

The castle has the nickname of Crow Castle, as it is covered by black weatherboard. The main tower which had been designated as a national treasure until the end of WWII was burnt down by an air attack. The present tower is a reconstruction.

In the tower, visitors have an opportunity to get on a palanquin and take photos and wear kimonos of samurai warrior and princes of samurai class.
