Please come to enjoy a traditional local dish “gyohan”

Takehara was prosperous due to salt making during the Edo era. Wealthy salt producers used to serve gyohan (lit. rice with fish) to please their invited guests for auspicious occasions.

After the salt farms were closed in 1960, the dish has been forgotten. Recently the local volunteers restored the taste. Reservations are required by the previous day.
