This 160-meter bridge crosses the Hii River, supposedly home to the legendary 8-headed Japanese dragon Yamata no Orochi. The bridge has come to be known as the “Wishing Bridge” through Unnan City’s appearance in movies; close your eyes, cross the bridge, and your wish will come true. Locally, it is also called a submersible bridge because it sinks when the water level rises. For pictures, we recommend visiting during cherry blossom season.
