The Iwami Kagura is one of Japan’s typical performance art styles. At the long established San’nomiya Shinto Shrine in Hamada City, the performance is held every Saturday. Fifty troops in the city present one-hour performances, taking turns each week. An explanation of the program and a photo session are available, so visitors can fully enjoy the world of the area’s mythology which has been passed down for generations through the performances.

 

Admission: 700 yen for a regular performance, 1,000 yen for a special performance.
