The documents and materials of the excavated ruins give us clues about the ancient Izumo from various viewpoints. The exhibition features three themes: the Izumo Grand Shrine, the Izumo fudoki (historical records), and bronze implements to introduce ancient Izumo in a comprehensive manner. The wonders and secrets of the shrine and the culture and life of ancient people are explained in clear descriptions with the help of recreated models and historical records. Among all, unearthed bronze wares and more than 200 bronze swords are worth to see.
