Hagi Reverberatory

Japan's precious industrial heritage
Culture YAMAGUCHI

The reverberatory was an indispensable metal melting device for casting iron cannons. Japan has only two existing reverberatories; one is in Nirayama(Shizuoka Prefecture) and the other is in Hagi. They tell the history of Japan’s developing industrial technologies.

In July of 2015, it was designated as one of the Historic Sites of “Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution, Iron & Steel, Shipbuilding and Coal Mining”
