The first day

The atmosphere of the area which extends from the Hagi Castle remains has not changed since the olden days.
It is recommended to visit the former residences and the birthplaces of the young ambitious warriors who relentlessly worked for the Meiji Restoration which drastically changed Japanese politics. Please try to stroll around, riding a rickshaw or wearing a kimono.

The grassland is located at 333 meters above sea level. In front of visitors, the panoramic scenery of dotting islands, extending sky and sea unfolds.
On Summer nights, lights of fishing boats glitter on the sea.
It’s a perfect place to enjoy nature, as the area is far from residential areas. Popular among camp lovers due to the marvelous view.

It is believed that the spirit of the deity was brought from Taikodani Inari Shinto Shrine of Tsuwano by the oracle of a white fox. As many as one hundred twenty-three Shinto gates of red color line up towards the coast. The offering box is said to be the most difficult to toss coins into for offertory purpose, as it is attached over the gate beam, four meters above the ground. It is believed that our dream will come true after throwing one in.

The second day

The 1,780 meters bridge is famous as the site for shooting of advertisements. It is Japan’s longest among all the toll-free bridges.
The view seen from the observation points built on both sides of the bridge is indescribable. It’s a perfect photo spot.

The widely known market deals with various fresh fish.
On national holidays and during weekends, Ikiiki Bakan Gai is opened to offer visitors a chance to try tasty sushi. Nigiri-sushi and donburi menus (rice covered with seafood) are ready to be served.
The city is also famous for historical value, as Akama Jingu Shinto Shrine is dedicated to the Emperor Antoku who lost his life at the battle of Daunoura and Ganrhujima island where Yoshitsune Minamoto and Tomomori Taira made a decisive deal.
